Anyway, I decided to celebrate in my birthday and so it came that I invited some friends to a bar in the centre of the city. Unfortunately there are a lot of exams going on these days so a lot of people weren’t able to come due to exams on the following day. But in that way I was even happier to see the people who actually could manage to come that night!
Gorgeous, isn't it? (cat in boots aka Stella, donkey aka Ahmad, Shrek aka Sarah and Princess Fiona aka Krithika)
Sarah and me started the evening by watching Shrek the third followed by a few Baileys and a couple of glasses of Cowgirl in Bulga 406 (Sarah’s – and now also mine - apartment). We were joined by Kerstin who was actually pretty sick that day. But she came with us after doing my hair.
On the way to the bar we picked up Eva at Railway Square from where we headed directly to the Equilibrium where we met the others and waited for midnight.
At 0h sharp Aarti, Sarah and Kerstin brought a with lid candles decorated caramel cake. It was sooooo delicious. It took me two runs to blow out all the candles as usual… I guess that will never be better since I’m becoming older every time I have to do it!
Yammy!!!! Caramel!
After the everybody’s congratulations (including a phone call from my mother which actually made me cry a little) and the presents (I LOVE presents!!! *G*) we headed off to the Irish Pub just around the corner where a live band was playing. We danced all night long and went home completely exhausted.
me and my presents: the scarf and the book (1984), a necklace (temporarily hidden under the scarf) and poster with pics of all our friends in Berlin
dancing the night away...
We started the next morning with a breakfast at BreadTop an Asian bakery with the most delicious stuff ever!!! I ate a Tuna Bun for which I was longing for weeks! The day couldn’t start better!

Maybe you can't tell it from the picture but it tastes like heaven!!!
After that we went to Glebe in a combined second hand book and coffee shop! A dream come true! My two most favourite things in the world, cheap books and coffee, in one shop!
I can’t get over the fact, that it took me 4 months to find it! Well, maybe it’s better that way because I would have ended up spending heaps of money earlier. And don’t even think about asking how I want to bring all those books back to Berlin!

effa, Sarah and me in the world's best shop ever!
Anyway, we spent a couple of hours there, ate a salad and then went back home after going to the movie store to get some DVDs for the evening.
We ended up at Bulga 406, watching Sex and the City and having cheese and wine.
Based on the fact that all of us were still a little hung over we went to bed pretty early but I think that was one of my most favourite birthdays ever!
