Rugby - Australia vs. Wales 26/05/

Last week on Saturday René and me went to the Olympic Park to watch the rugby game Australia vs Wales. We used the fact, that our tickets included the transport to the park and arrived a few hours earlier to explore the Olympic Park and do some sight seeing. (Yes, I do remember what I said about the park in the post of the Blue Mountains trip, but I didn't have to pay extra...so it was ok to go! *g*)

I stick to my guns: this place is boring! ;P

Actually we wanted to do a guided tour through the Telstra stadium but unfortunately we arrived half an hour after the last one for that day started. They had do cancel the others because of the game but didn't announce it on the internet so we had no clue about it and had to waste our time by ourselves.

We finally decided to do the flying trapeze since it really sounded like fun!

it really looks like fun, doesn't it?

We arrived in the middle of a session and a sneak preview what would await us if we signed in. Well, unfortunately we couldn't join that attraction either since it was booked out. Ok, I have to admit that this is not quite the truth... in reality I was simply way too frightened! *g*

So we finally strolled through the park, went on the Ring Walk and I satisfied my addiction to coffee at Gloria Jean's while René went swimming in the Olympic pool.

At last it was time for the game to start!

We entered the stadium and found our seats. Our seats were amazing!!! They were in the 5th row directly behind one of the end zones.

We were sooo close, we could nearly smell their sweat! But still far away enough to not to! Thank God! I mean who wants to smell that???

Well, again, I had a hard time to get the rules! I just got the basic aim of the game but in between...? I think they just had a referee because they wanted the audience to be completely confused from time to time so that they are so busy trying to figure out why the referee interrupted the game that they don't loose interest. Or they had some shirts left over and didn't want to waste anything.
Anyway, the game was awesome!

I was freezing my as off that's why I look so pale and my nose so ridiculously red
But thank God there was beer so I could warm my self up by getting a little tipsy! *g*

The game was so exciting!
But in the last second... well actually after the final whistle but for some reason they were allowed to play on... the Wallabies scored for the last time to win with 29 to 23!

It was marvellous!
I'm looking forward to the next sports event of which I won't understand the rules of the game! *G*
